Kings Capitol Clinic is a million pound expansion from Kings Specialist
Dental Practice in Barnsley which has been a successful oral
surgery/implant referral service for the past 5 years. The expansion
being a necessity to allow us to continue providing a professional
service
and cope with the increase in referrals over the years. This new
venture
has been set up as a referral practice purely dedicated to oral
surgery
and implants. Once treatment is completed patients will be returned
back to their dentists.
Kings Capitol Conference Centre is an ultra modern Conference Unit
on the first floor which will seat up to 50 people. It has facilities
for
power point presentations and is available for daily hire.

I was awarded an MSc in oral surgery at Kings College University
of London in 1992. I gained my training towards becoming a registered
specialist
in oral surgery from several oral maxillo-facial units including
the Eastman Dental Institute and Kings College Dental Hospital in
London,
Rotherham District General Hospital and Barnsley District General
Hospital amongst many others.
I did a year long didactic course in dental implantology at the
Tatum Institute at Harley Street, London in 2002 where I received
training under direct
supervision from Hilt Tatum, the dental implant oral reconstructive
pioneer who designed and introduced the first, two-stage titanium
root form
(Dental Implant) system in the USA. I have also attended several
mentoring courses in placing Ankylos (Dentsply Friadent) implants
in the UK and
Germany and have attended on many occasions various Specialist Implant
and Surgical units in the USA.
I am a member of the Association of Dental Implantology (ADI), the
British Dental Association (BDA), the British Association of Oral
Surgeons
(BAOS) and the Society for the Advancement of Anaesthesia in Dentistry
(SAAD) where I completed the SAAD national course in conscious
sedation in 2002 and 2006.
Dr Susan Headlong BDS Liverpool 1987
Dr Headlong has a special interest in Periodontology and is a member
of the British Society of Periodontology. She has 21 years experience
in Clinical
Dentistry in which she has aquired considerable experience and knowledge
in the treatment of Periodontal diseases. She was a Clinical tutor
in the
Periodontal and Oral Surgery Departments at the Leeds Dental Institute,
being responsible for the supervision and education of Dental
undergraduates. She is also a member of the Association of Dental
Implantology (ADI), the British Dental Association (BDA), the British
Dental
Health Foundation (BDHF), and the Society for the Advancement of
Anaesthesia in Dentistry (SAAD). She has completed the SAAD national
course of conscious sedation and has completed a year long course
(2005-2006) in Dental Implantology at the Tatum Institute in Harley
Street,
London, where she was awarded “Student of the Year”,
and also attained the highest mark in the final examination.
